HONEYMOON REGISTRIES

As a tradition, registries were created for newlyweds to request gifts in their newly shared home. In today’s modern day, some couples already have all the household items they need, so registries have become slightly dated. There are still of course a few items that you might want to add like that Kitchen Aid mixer you’ve been eyeing. Or maybe you need a few new things like matching lamps for your living room, or a nice patio set for the summer. Definitely all fun things registries are meant for.

However, if you find that you really don’t need any household items, a newer trend is to register experiences for your Honeymoon. Perhaps you are going to a Tropical Island and want to book a couples massage, a fun hike excursion or simply a nice night out at a restaurant. There are plenty of sites out there that can help guide you in setting up such a fund. It not only allows you a little relief on the monetary side of the Honeymoon, but also allows your guests something fun to contribute to something you will always remember.

If you’re really in no need for gifts or honeymoon funds, you can simply and elegantly suggest for a card as their gift to you. Many couples will use a bird cage, grandma’s favorite basket from the old country or just a cute postage box to collect these valuable cards in. This way, whatever contributions are provided from your guests, you can use towards whatever you like. Perhaps towards a new car or a down payment on a new home for the two of you.

Lastly, some couples have opted to donate their guests’ generous gifts to a charity of their choice. If you have a charity that has always been close to your heart, this is a perfect way to contribute.

Remember that whatever you decide to do, this is meant for you and your partner in this new chapter of your lives. So, make it fun, exciting and something that you will look back on and remember fondly.
